FAO Turkey is showcasing FAO’s work on seed related sectors aiming to raise public awareness on the importance of seeds, genetic resources and plant health for sustainability and improvement of agricultural production…
Ankara– FAO Turkey is contributing an international online seed fair which is being organized by the Turkish Seed Industries Association (TURKTED). Open for visitors between 23 and 29 November, the fair hosts 31 national and international companies from all walks of agriculture sector such as seed firms, the companies of seed preparation machinery and equipment, the producers of plant protection products, the producers of seed coating materials, the producers of fertilizers and NGOs and public institutions working in the seed related sectors.
FAO Turkey is displaying its own stand showcasing FAO’s activities in the area of seeds through a various visibility products including posters and videos in this virtual seed fair. In regard to posters, FAO Turkey is presenting three visuals on seeds and two on the FAO-Turkey Partnership Programmes on food and agriculture and on forestry (FTPP and FTFP respectively). Besides, FAO Turkey visuals in the fair include three FAO videos, promoting the FAO`s renewed strategy for transition to a sustainable circular bioeconomy, importance of quality seeds for improvement of agricultural production and the International Year of Plant Health 2020.
With these visuals, FAO Turkey promotes work of FAO on seeds and seed related sectors and with the aim of raising public awareness on the importance of seeds, genetic resources and plant health and international cooperation for sustainability and improvement of agricultural production. FAO is also supporting participation of countries from Central Asia and Caucasus in the fair.
