According to Malatya Commodity Exchange data, dried apricot exports in the province, between August 1 and August 28, 2021, increased by 55 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 30.1 million dollars.

Accordingly, between August 1, 2020 and August 28, 2020, 6 thousand 62 tonnes of dried apricots were exported and 19 million 446 thousand dollars of foreign currency inflow was provided in return. In the same period of this year, 8 thousand 337 tons of dried apricots were exported and 30 million 157 thousand dollars were obtained in return.
Thus, 37.5 percent more income was obtained from dried apricots exported from Malatya and 55 percent more in amount too.
Target 500 million dollars…
While the dried apricots with European Union (EU) registration certificate grown in Malatya, which is one of the important centres of apricot production in the world, provide foreign exchange inflow of 250-350 million dollars annually, it was also noted that the target is to provide 500 million dollars of foreign currency inflow.
