• BURSA BLACK FIG WILL BE PROMOTED TO THE WORLD THROUGH UR-GE PROJECT

The closing meeting of the consultancy activity on “On-Site Market Research in Target Markets” of the Ur-Ge (Product development) project of Increasing Awareness of Bursa Black Fig in Various Geographies, which was initiated with the support of Uludağ Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (UYMSİB) along with Ministry of Trade and lasted for about 3 months, was held.

Uludağ Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (UYMSİB) Chairperson Professor Dr. Senih Yazgan, project consultant Akdan Danışmanlık representative, consultant Nilüfer Arıak, as well as representatives of companies involved in the Ur-Ge Cluster Project participated in the online meeting.

Within the scope of the consultancy activity of approximately 3 months, information was given to the companies in the cluster on how to conduct research in the target country markets determined in the needs analysis. In the consultancy activity within the scope of the Ur-Ge project, in which information about the use of social media in foreign trade, platforms to be examined and paid attention to market research and market information are shared, the strategies that the sector should follow in order to increase their competitiveness in the global market were also discussed.

Emphasizing that Bursa is a province that can have a say in world trade with its many products, Dr. Senih Yazgan stated that as the Association, they are not only limited to the goal of producing and exporting quality products, but they also carry out many studies to promote the products in the portfolio of the Association on social media. Dr. Yazgan said that they want to boost the market share of black figs, identified with Bursa, in foreign trade.

“We evaluated it with our companies. Sample projects and suggestions were presented by the consultant firm to our members who wanted to benefit from the support within the scope of the project. Our companies involved in our project benefited greatly from the trainings. I believe that our project, which will enable the black fig, which is identified with Bursa, to open up to new markets, will also make a significant contribution to the agriculture of the product,” he added.

Akdan Danışmanlık firm representative and experienced consultant Nilüfer Arıak said, “We work with many different companies. Bursa is a province that comes after Istanbul in exports and its importance is surging. Our companies are already experienced and in good shape, but more market share is needed.”

“Within the scope of the project, we came together in trainings such as preparations before going to the field and market research methodologies. We have a shortcoming at the point of introducing Bursa black fig. We stand by our companies in this regard. We need to promote our products on digital platforms in the world, just like the USA does in walnuts,” she explained…
