“CEREALS AND PULSES INDUSTRY EXCEEDED THE EXPORT TARGET IN 2021”

Cereals and pulses industry exceeded its export target in 2021!

A total of 9 billion 156 million 524 dollars of grains, pulses, oilseeds and products were exported across Turkey in 2021 with an increase of 25.57 percent compared to the previous year.

Sector Board Chairman Mahsum Altunkaya said, “Despite great difficulties, we left behind a year in which we exceeded our export target.”

Mahsum Altunkaya, Chair of Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) Cereals Pulses Oil Seeds and Products Sector Board, who stated that a challenging year was left behind in 2021 and that they exceeded their sectoral targets, pointed out that last year, the export of cereals and pulses was worth 9 billion 156 million 524 thousand dollars with a rise of 25.57 percent compared to the previous year.

Indicating that despite the pandemic that swept the world, Turkish exporters surpassed their 2021 target of 9 billion dollars and achieved a total of 9 billion 156 million 524 thousand dollars of cereals and pulses exports, Altunkaya added, “We set our 2022 target as 11 billion dollars at the last sector board meeting in December. The year 2022 is a year when we all have to work, produce and export more. It is the common duty of all our citizens to do this for the development of our country and to enhance employment.”
