Honey combs, milked by flower honey producers in various provinces of Turkey, are processed as “perga” in the company in Sinanpaşa district of Afyonkarahisar and sold to the domestic market as well as to Qatar, Libya and Jordan.

A company that has been operating in the field of bee products for 17 years in Taşoluk town of the district has started to transform the honeycombs from which flower honey is milked in different provinces into bee bread (perga) in recent years.

Perga, which contains rich enzymes, looks like bee pollen fermented with honey because it is formed in honeycomb nests.

Company representative Murat Akdi said that they have been serving in the beekeeping and pollen production sector for many years in Afyonkarahisar.

Drawing attention to the fact that perga is a new source of income for the beekeeping sector and honey producers, Akdi said that they bring honeycombs with pollen from the Black Sea, Central Anatolia and Aegean Regions with cold chain and process them in their company.
