Arslan Soydan, Member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Turkish Agricultural Chambers (TZOB), stated that the yields announced for the hazelnut harvest season of 2024 do not reflect the reality and said, “The studies to be carried out after the month of July will reflect the real yield.”
In Perşembe district, Ordu Provincial Coordination Board Meeting of the Union of Agricultural Chambers was held with the participation of the heads of the district chambers of agriculture. Arslan Soydan, Member of the Board of Directors of the TZOB, stated in his speech here that there are about 35 days left until the hazelnut harvest time and that there are different statements regarding the yield of the new season, and that the real yield will be revealed after the counting that will start next week.
Pointing out that the work to be put forward by the yield determination commission should be respected, Soydan added, “In hazelnut, yield determination will be made in coastal, middle and high areas. The studies to be carried out after the month of July will reflect the actual yield. Our representatives of agricultural chambers will also be present in the hazelnut yield determination commission. We will do our best to carry out this process transparently.”
