“ANTEP PISTACHIO EXPORTS ROSE BY 30 PERCENT THIS YEAR”

Turkiye’s Antep pistachio exports in the January-June period rose by 30 percent compared to the same period last year.

Antep pistachio exports from Turkiye in the January-June period of this year soared by 30 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 111 million 456 thousand dollars.

Şanlıurfa Commodity Exchange Chairperson Mehmet Kaya said, “Considering the climate conditions and global crises, the export rate we have achieved is pleasing for us. There is no doubt that our country will have a bigger place in the world market in terms of Antep pistachio in the coming years.”

According to the information compiled from the data of Southeastern Anatolian Exporters’ Associations (GAİB), pistachios worth 209 million 686 thousand dollars were exported to 110 countries in 2021.

While 85 million 182 thousand dollars were obtained in return for 8 thousand 285 tonnes of products in the January-June period of last year, 12 thousand 258 tonnes of pistachios were sold to 91 countries for 111 million 456 thousand dollars in the same period of this year.

During this period, Germany was one of the countries that the country exported the most pistachios to. In the first half of the year, 17 million 43 thousand dollars worth of pistachios were sent to Germany. Kyrgyzstan followed Germany with 9 million 363 thousand dollars and Iraq with 6 million 828 thousand dollars.
