While the tomato quantity index decreased by 20.46 percent annually, the price index increased by 191.76 percent. While the vegetable quantity index decreased by 8.95 percent annually, the price index increased by 143.14 percent. The fruit quantity index increased by 32.98 percent annually, while the price index increased by 26.91 percent.
Antalya Commodity Exchange (ATB) announced the Antalya Wholesale Markets Tomato, Vegetable and Fruit Index of the month of March. The index values of the transaction quantity and prices of tomatoes, vegetables and fruit traded in Antalya markets changed in March 2022 compared to the previous month and compared to the same month of the previous year.
While the March indices soared by 14.99 percent in tomatoes, 16.70 percent in vegetables and 2.27 percent in fruit compared to the previous month, the amount indices decreased by 20.46 percent in tomatoes and 8.95 percent in vegetables compared to the same month of the previous year and rose by 32.98 percent in fruit.
In March, the quantity indices showed the lowest monthly rise in tomatoes in the last 7 years, while an annual average fall was observed. While the monthly change in the amount of vegetables was the lowest except for 2019, it showed an average decrease annually. While the monthly change in the fruit trading amount index showed an average increase, the annual change was the highest one after 2020.
