AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND DRINK EXPORTS REACHED TO 12.7 BILLION DOLLARS AS THE END OF AUGUST…

According to the Digital Data Panel of the Federation of Food and Drink Industry Associations of Turkey’s (TGDF) Digital Data Panel, the agriculture, food and drink sector made an export of 12.77 billion dollars and import of 10.64 billion dollars in the first 8 months of 2020.

TGDF Digital Data Panel, based on Foreign Trade Data released by the Turkey Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) is being prepared by Agrimetre.

According to the calculations that include all GTIP items between chapters 01 and 24 and selected products from chapters 29 and 35, the foreign trade balance of the sector in the first 8 months of 2020 increased by 33.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Based on foreign trade data, published according to the General Trade System (GTS), exports increased by 6.4% in the first 8 months of 2020 compared to the same period of the previous year, while imports increased by 2.3%.

In the first 6 months of the year, imports increased by 7.6% compared to the same period of the previous year. This showed that imports decreased in the following period compared to the first half of 2020.

On a monthly basis, imports increased by 6.4% to 0.97 billion dollars in August compared to the same month of the previous year, while monthly exports increased by 11.5% to 1.4 billion dollars.

In July, imports were $ 1.07 billion with a decrease of 18.9% compared to the same month of the previous year and monthly exports increased by 10.4% to $ 1.62 billion.
