AEGEAN EXPORTERS MAKE AN EXPORT OF 18.3 BILLION DOLLARS IN 2022!

18 billion 294 million dollars export from EIB in 2022…

Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) achieved an export of 18 billion 297 million dollars in 2022 with an increase of 12 percent and showed an export performance of 1 billion 670 million dollars in December with an increase of 7 percent.

Exports of the Aegean Region soared by 11 percent in 2022 and reached 31 billion 417 million dollars. İzmir, which is the second largest exporting province in Türkiye according to TUIK (Turkish Statistical Institute) data, realized 54 percent of Aegean Region exports with 17 billion 244 million dollars of exports. Aegean Free Zone and İzmir Free Zone also contributed 3 billion 28 million dollars to İzmir’s exports.

Record year for aquaculture and animal products…

Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association became the leader of the agriculture sectors within the EIB with an export of 1 billion 619 million dollars in 2022 with a hike of 23 percent.

While the Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association left 2022 behind with 1 billion 472 million dollars, the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association ramped up its exports by 5 percent to 1 billion 246 million dollars in 2022.

Cereals reach 1 billion dollars target…

Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds Exporters’ Association, for the first time in its history, achieved an export of 1 billion dollars with an increase of 46 percent.

Aegean Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters’ Association completed the year 2022 with a rise of 20 percent to 866 million dollars and the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association with 852 million dollars.

Aegean Tobacco Exporters’ Association realized an export of 773 million dollars with a rise of 5 percent.

Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association brought 336 million dollars in Turkish economy.

Industrial exports exceed 10 billion dollars, agricultural exports run to 7 billion dollars…

EIB Coordinator Chair Jak Eskinazi said, “In 2022, 9 of our 12 Exporters’ Associations within the EIB boosted their exports. Our industrial sectors contributed 10 billion 359 million dollars to EİB’s exports with an increase of 8 percent and our agricultural sectors contributed 6 billion 727 million dollars with an increase of 17 percent.

“The year of 2022 was both a turning point for the global economy due to the war between Ukraine and Russia, the energy crisis, the possibility of recession, and economic uncertainty and a year in which the economic crisis settled in the centre of Türkiye. Despite this, as the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, we reached our export target of 18 billion dollars in July. Yet if this environment does not change, even maintaining the current export figures in 2023 will be a success. We consider a decline in export figures as inevitable,” he added…
