Press release…

Exports of agricultural products from EIB exceeded 5 billion dollars.

EIB’s agricultural products export target for 2021 is 5.5 billion dollars.

Seedless raisins, dried figs, tobacco, cotton, olives, olive oil, fisheries, poultry meat, eggs, dairy products, honey, fresh fruit vegetables, fruit and vegetable products, non-wood forest products, citrus fruits, poppy seeds, oil seeds and spices…

These are precious agricultural products grown all over the Aegean region and exported to many countries around the world by Aegean exporters who realised 5 million 98 million dollars as foreign exchange.

In 2020, when the world commodity trade contracted by 7 percent due to the pandemic, the exports of agricultural products by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB) increased by 4 percent. On the other hand EİB’s agricultural exports had reached 4 billion 922 million dollars in 2019.

Evaluating the agricultural products export performance of Aegean Exporters’ Associations in 2020 due to the Agricultural Week, Chairs of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations aim to increase the agricultural products exports of the Aegean Region by 10 percent in 2021.

The common concern of Aegean agricultural exporters, who stated that they will work to reach an export figure of 5.5 billion dollars in 2021, is the drought.
