Agriculture is about more than growing crops and raising livestock!
It also plays a critical role in global stability and development: ensuring food security and contributing to geopolitical influence, while tackling shared challenges like climate change.
This is the theory of ‘International Agricultural Diplomacy’: using agriculture as ‘soft power’ to promote stability and food security through trade, technology and knowledge transfer, and applied R&D.
As Secretary General of IFAJ – International Federation of Agricultural Journalists, I’m taking part in a panel session on 21 November alongside ISF President Arthur Santosh Attavar, WFO President Arnold Puech d’Alissac, Türkiye’s deputy minister of agriculture Dr. Ahmet Bağcı (MBA) and Chairwoman of the Turkish Agricultural Diplomacy Group (TADG – TTDG) Melisa Mutlu.
I’m looking forward to a fascinating discussion at GROWTECH. Events. Thank you to İsmail Uğural for the invitation.
