517 THOUSAND OF FRESH TEA PURCHASED BY ÇAYKUR…

In a written statement made by ÇAYKUR (Turkey Tea Enterprises), it was reminded that the purchase of fresh tea started on July 7. In the statement, it was noted that the second offshoot purchases of the fresh tea campaign period, which started during the pandemic process and when the measures were intense, have been completed.

During the campaign 247 thousand tons of fresh tea was purchased in the first offshoot and 270 thousand tons in the second offshoot period.

In the statement, which emphasized that a total of 517 thousand tons of fresh tea was purchased from the producers and continued as follows:

“Although the tea campaign was initiated during periods of intense epidemic, as a result of the measures taken throughout the country and institutionally, we have completed the second period of offshoot without any problems, except for a few individual and local cases. The third period of offshoot is likewise prepared in coordination with our factory directorates and relevant departments. We intend to complete this year’s tea purchases by reviewing the measures and practices to be taken.”

The following expressions took place in the ÇAYKUR’s statement; “As in the first two offshoots, the producers are asked to collect quality products in accordance with their qualities. The precautions and recommendations we take regarding disease contamination or transmission should be followed up to the maximum. In addition, even though there is no restriction of foreign labour, the efforts to collect the teas in the family are both for the producers’ own interests and we believe that tea and tea gardens will be beneficial for the future.”
